Community Groups are small, welcoming circles of people who meet, share life, and support one another. You don’t need to be a member of our parish to join. All are invited. If you’re new to community groups, we recommend that you start with the Alpha Film Series and then branch off into various groups based on your season in life.
Alpha Film Series
The Alpha Film Series is an 11-week program that creates a relaxed, welcoming space for people to explore the basics of the Christian faith. Each session includes a short, high-quality video that introduces a big question—such as “Who is Jesus?” or “Why and how do I pray?”—using stories, interviews, and easy-to-understand explanations. After the film, participants join in open, judgment-free conversation where they can share thoughts or simply listen. There’s no pressure, no cost, and no expectations. The goal is to create a safe place for honest questions and meaningful discussion, all within a friendly community setting. For more information about the program please email Joyce Bott at joyce@bott.ca
Parent-Child Workshops
Parent-Child workshops are offered to the community to give young children and their caregivers as space to learn about significant events in the liturgical calendar, in a fun, creative, and casual setting. For more information please email the parish office at staroftheseachurch@cogeco.net
Small Groups (Coming Soon)
Each week, small groups of 6–10 people meet in homes, parish spaces, or local public spaces. Groups listen to a short reflection based on the Sunday homily and talk about how it applies to real life. There is no teaching or preparation required—just honest conversation, shared experience, and prayer.
Small groups help turn Sunday worship into something lived throughout the week. They are a place to build relationships, ask questions, and support one another through everyday challenges. For more information please email joyce@bott.ca.
